Hi all!! Welcome to TacticalTraveling!! To start, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Bailey Spaulding and I am a recent college graduate that has a passion for traveling. My love for traveling started in high school when I went on a trip to the pacific coast. Whether it’s the beach, the mountains, or the city, there is always something new to explore. Some of the main things I love are good food and good company, and traveling easily encompasses these two key things. Throughout all of my travels, I have tried new food I never thought I would, I have created new relationships and strengthened established ones, and I have learned so many valuable lessons. Traveling is not only fun, it is a chance to open your eyes to what the world has to offer!

What started my love of traveling?

One of myfavorite experiences with traveling was the summer of 2022. This is where my independence grew and my love of exploring new places really started. I was lucky enough to live in Chicago, Illinois for the summer. From living on Lakeshore Drive, to taking public transportation, to going to street festivals every weekend, my eyes were opened to all of the amazing things travel can bring. Trying new and unique restaurants every week excites me, walking down Michigan Avenue and seeing all of the city lights gave me a sense of wonder that I love, and going running along Lake Michigan with the Chicago breeze gave me comfort. Since then, I have had the travel bug and have found it hard to stop!

Tell me your story

If you aren’t a city person, don’t worry. I will be doing blog posts about outdoor and mountain trips as well. White water rafting? Hiking? Cabins? Camping? I will cover it all and would love to hear input from all of you! If you have a trip you loved or have a suggestion that you think would be great for me to write about, go ahead and fill out the “Make a Suggestion” or “Tell Me Your Story” on TacticalTraveling.com. I am so excited to hear about some of your experiences and why you love to travel. I know that traveling is important to all of us here!

Tactical and Feasible

As many of you are probably thinking, how can a college student afford to travel? If I am being honest, although I love to travel, being on a college budget does not always make it the easiest. Throughout the years, I have learned tips and tricks about how to travel economically without compromising the validity of the trip. From saving on hotel bundles to finding hole-in-the-wall restaurants that are cheaper but still delicious, there are ways to still thoroughly enjoy your trip while not breaking the bank.

I want everyone to find something on TacticalTraveling that appeals to them and can be applied to your individual traveling dreams! Things ranging from activities, to restaurants, to itineraries, and more will be featured on TacticalTraveling and I can’t wait to share some of my favorite recommendations with you. If you are a lover of adrenaline and adventure, a lover of good and unique food, and a lover of itineraries that are financially feasible, then you have come to the right place. I can’t wait to share some of my favorite places with you and I can’t wait to hear about some of yours. Whether you love to travel or not, I hope you find my blog to be helpful and fun. So, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
