Welcome to New York!

In new yooooorrrkkkk!!! Que all the Alicia Keys, Frank Sinatra, and Taylor Swift! As you can tell, this week’s topic of travel is going to be New York City. Stay tuned for the rest of the blog post to hear about some of my favorite activities and restaurants in the city.

Past Trips!

This past week, I got the chance to travel to New York City with my school! I got to do everything from attend a finance conference, to walk around Chelsea Market and have the best bagel I have ever had. Not only did I have some of the best food I have had in a while, I was also able to do fun activities like ride bikes though central park. However, this past week was not my first time in New York City. Last semester, one of my best friends and I decided to spontaneously take a trip to NYC. We were only there for less than 48 hours! However, we were able to fit so much into those hours. We did everything from explore the Financial District, explore hole-in-the-wall bagels shops, walk the High Line near Hudson Yards and more! Through both of these trips, I have been able to compile a list of the most financially conscious activities, places to eat, and places to stay in New York City.

Bagels and Coffee, What Could be Better?

I would be remiss if I did not start my suggestions off with some of the best bagel places to check out. Below are two of my favorites:

  • Leo’s Bagel: This bagel shop is nestled in the Financial District and is a staple. The prices are cheap, and you still get a very quality bagel. However, the line can get long, so be sure to get there early if you can!
  • Black Seeds Bagel: This bagel shop is located in Chelsea Market and is delicious! The prices are not bad, a bit higher than Leo’s, but they have many flavors and options! This is definitely a must try and the location can’t be beat.

What pairs well with a bagel? If you said coffee, that is correct! Below are a few of my favorite coffee shops in the city:

  • Gregory’s Coffee: I will take an iced vanilla latte made with almond milk please! This is one of the best iced lattes I have ever had. If you are a coffee snob, this place is for you!
  • Birch Coffee: The menu here is very unique and the coffee is very high quality! If you are looking for a fun and delicious cup of coffee, check this out!
