The best activities in Birmingham- outdoor markets to shopping!

Although I could talk about restaurants and coffee shops all day, there are activities in Birmingham that also deserve some spotlight! Whether you are here for a day or the weekend, these activities are great (and reasonably priced) options. Below are a few of my favorite things to do in Birmingham:

  1. Vulcan Park and Museum
  • Vulcan Park and Museum is one of my favorite places to explore. Situated atop Red Mountain, Vulcan Park and Museum offers amazing views of the city and even has a museum where you can learn about some of Birmingham’s history!
  1. Pepper Place Market
  • If you are in town for a weekend, I highly suggest stopping by Pepper Place Market. This is a large outdoor market every weekend in downtown Birmingham that includes many local restaurants, small businesses and more. A few of my personal favorites here are the bread stand and the flower market.
  1. Exploring the different villages in Birmingham!
  • One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is take a walk or go for a drive through the different neighborhoods of Birmingham. With unique and beautiful houses, parks, etc. the Birmingham community is such a fun one to explore! Don’t miss driving through English Village or Mountain Brook to see some beautiful and unique architecture that will make you feel like you stepped back in time!
  1. The Summit
  • If you love to shop, The Summit is for you! Featuring stores from Free People, to Lulu Lemon, to Altered State, The Summit has it all! This is perfect for a relaxing day (and one where you may feel like splurging 🙂 )!

I could go on and on about the different things to do in Birmingham. Birmingham is a unique, welcoming, and vibrant city and it can’t wait for you to visit. I am so glad I got to share one of my favorite places with you. Stay tuned for next week and don’t forget to subscribe!
