The Ultimate Weekend Trip!
Next up…. Charleston, South Carolina! Charleston is an eclectic, charming, and cute city that has SO much to offer! Whether you want to walk the streets and shop, spend all day in unique coffee shops, or spend a day at the beach, Charleston has it all. My junior year spring break in Charleston included everything from some of the best matcha lattes, runs along the water, shopping at some of my favorite stores, and dining at amazing (and affordable) restaurants. I can’t wait to share how to travel to Charleston on a budget!
The Best Coffee Shops in Charleston!
If someone asked me about my favorite part of Charleston, my answer would most definitely be all of the amazing small, independent restaurants and coffee shops that it has to offer. Around every corner is a new and unique place to dine or stop in and get some caffeine! Even though this blog is not a coffee blog, it is a necessary part of my posts now 😊 Below you will find some of my favorite bakeries and coffee shops!
- Harken Café– If you imagine the ultimate calming coffee shop that is perfect for both visits with friends or getting some work done, this is the place! As you walk in you feel like you have stepped into a fairytale. My menu suggestion here is an iced matcha latte. They are delicious!
- Clerks Coffee– If you are looking for a good place to sit for a few minutes and rest your feet after exploring, this is the place for you. With many drink and food options on the menu, you can find something for everyone here. Personally, the iced vanilla latte with almond milk and a chocolate croissant are my favorites!
The Best Sandwich I Have Ever Had…
Another amazing part of Charleston is the cuisine! Charleston offers every type of cuisine you can imagine! Some of the restaurants can be pretty pricey, but we were able to find options that were very reasonable for a college budget. Below you can find some affordable dining options in Charleston!
- Circe’s Grotto– I will start by saying, this is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had!! We just happened to stumble upon this sandwich shop, and I am so glad we did. We ended up going back multiple times for a quick, affordable, and delicious lunch. You can’t go wrong with anything on this menu!
- Carmella’s Café and Dessert Bar– Although this is not a place to get a meal, it is a place to get the best part of dinner… dessert! This is a pretty well-known spot in Charleston and for good reason. You can get anything from specialty ice creams to cakes. To keep it cheaper, I highly suggest splitting with a friend (the cake slices are definitely big enough to do this). If you like carrot cake, you can’t leave Charleston without trying it here.
Stay Tuned!
Although those are just a few suggestions, there are many more where that came from! If you want additional suggestions, stay tuned for next week or drop me a note in the “contact me” or “make a suggestion” tab! Talk to you soon!
